Today's the day! If you, like us, have been waiting for this day with a mix of apprehension, anxiety, and optimism, today may come as both a relief (that it's finally here and change is hopefully on the horizon) and caution. Our approach to today is to try to stay focused on the goal: protecting our democracy and supporting candidates who will fight systemic racism, combat climate change, and ensure equal access to healthcare, education and opportunity. For some of us this means volunteering as poll workers, for others it means getting in line to cast a vote (you'll be able to find me on the DNC Voter Assistance Hotline all day today!).
However the day and subsequent days proceed, we hope that you will join us in doing all that you can to make sure that all our voices are heard and counted, peacefully, fairly, with kindness, generosity, and respect. We are this democracy, so let's come together and VOTE for the change we want to see!
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
— Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

GIVING UPDATE // NAACP Legal Defense Fund
Since May when we started producing masks, we've been donating the proceeds to causes that we deeply believe in, totaling $37,600 to date. For the month of October, we donated $2,900 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund to support their efforts to end police violence, protect our right to protest, safeguard our right to vote, ensure equal access to education and employment, and fight systemic inequalities. We will continue to direct our mask sales to the NAACP LDF this month. Thank you for not only enabling us to do this, but for keeping all of us safe by wearing masks!

WHAT WE'RE Re-READING // How to Spot (and Fight) Election Misinformation

While we just shared this last week, we think it's super important especially today! With all of us glued to our phones, computers and TVs, this refresher on disinformation (deliberately created with the intent to cause harm) and misinformation (incorrect information shared by people who believe it to be true) is extra important as we filter all the news we're ingesting. Most important takeaway: always double-check images and news articles before you react or share them.
