We started a bookclub! Curated and hosted by the wonderful Ubax of Cheche Books in Nairobi, we're so excited to read with you! Cheche Books is a Pan-African feminist bookshop and community event space focusing on African and diaspora women writers.
For our second meeting, we'll be reading Nanjala Nyabola's Travelling While Black: Essays Inspired by Life on the Move. We're super excited that the author herself will be leading our discussion on Sunday, June 13 at 1pm EST (10am PST).
To sign up for the bookclub and to receive the link for our meeting, please click here.
Wondering where to get a copy of the book? We'll have each book club selection available on our Bookshop, here!
For those of you in Nairobi, Cheche will be offering a 10% discount on all Zuri book club selections!
New to our book club? Welcome! For our inaugural meeting, we read We Do This 'Til We Free Us, by Mariame Kaba and Ubax led the discussion with Ruth Nyambura, a political ecologist and eco-feminist from Kenya who focuses on the intersections of gender, economy and ecological justice in the Global South.
